FARMINGTON HILLS — People might recognize Farmington Hills resident and balloon artist Werner Morgenstern from the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market, but this week he plans to make a special effort to support local kids.

For several years, balloon artists have made a special effort to reach out to the community in October as part of Balloons Around the World. The actual date for Balloons Around the World is Oct. 7, but Morgenstern plans to donate any tips he receives at the market Oct. 10 to the Royal Family Kids Camp in Novi, which serves abused and neglected children.
